Naming Ceremonies

Naming ceremonies always mark an important new chapter in someone’s life and is a time for celebration. As a celebrant I am able to offer this service as an alternative to a Christening. It would be my pleasure to work alongside you so that you have a naming ceremony that captures your wishes fully.
CAN I PERSONALISE A NAMING CEREMONY?
Yes, you can. A naming ceremony could involve extra elements, and these would be chosen by you. Examples of extra elements are parchment signing, a wishing jar or tree planting. You also may have your own ideas about extra elements that you would like to include. There are no rules that we need to follow. Your naming ceremony can be highly personalised and there is always time for you to discuss this when we meet. As your celebrant, we would work together to make sure that your ceremony is the perfect fit for you.
WHERE CAN I HOLD A NAMING CEREMONY?
I am happy to deliver a naming ceremony at a venue of your choosing, including outdoor venues. I can be flexible and offer weekend availability.
If you have a naming ceremony in mind that is not for a baby, I can also provide this as an independent celebrant.

NAMING CEREMONY PACKAGE:
• Initial meeting on Zoom or Teams to discuss the ceremony – free of charge so you can decide if I am the right celebrant for you.
• Meeting to discuss the ceremony and the content, music and readings etc so that you your wishes are fully met.
• A draft ceremony for you to approve and edit.
• Ceremony delivery.
• Ceremony pack for you to have as a keepsake.
• A naming ceremony with two extra elements is priced at £300.
There may be an extra travel cost if the ceremony is a certain distance outside of Exeter.
This can be agreed in advance.
There is a £75 deposit fee which is payable at the time of booking.
